Cookies
We do not set any. Here is the proof.
Most cookie policies are long because the site has a lot to declare. This one is short for the opposite reason. Reading soledating.app writes nothing to your device, and the Sole app carries no advertising or analytics SDK.
The company behind Sole
Sole. is a product of Menula LLP, a limited liability partnership registered in India (LLPIN ACZ-4363), at HIG-A-16, Dr. A S Rao Nagar, Hyderabad, Telangana 500062, India.
What a cookie is, briefly
A small file a website asks your browser to keep and hand back on your next visit. It can hold a preference, or a login, or a number that lets a company follow you between sites. The last of those is why cookie banners exist.
The same reasoning covers everything that behaves like a cookie: local storage, session storage, pixels, web beacons, tracking URLs and the identifiers a mobile app can read. This page treats all of it the same way, because the law does.
This website
Nothing is stored on your device by this site. No cookies, no local storage, no session storage, no pixels, no tracking parameters.
| Category | What we use | Consent needed |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | None. The site works without storing anything | n/a |
| Preferences | None. There is nothing to remember | n/a |
| Analytics | None. No Google Analytics, no Plausible, no Fathom, nothing | n/a |
| Advertising | None, and there will not be. Sole has no advertising business | n/a |
| Social | None. The Instagram link is a plain link, not an embed | n/a |
Two consequences worth knowing. First, there is no cookie banner here, because there is nothing to ask you about, and a banner that asks permission for nothing is just noise. Second, the typefaces are served from this domain rather than from a font CDN, so opening this page does not tell Google, or anyone else, that you were here.
What the server does see
Not storage, but worth being straight about: when you load a page, our server necessarily receives your IP address and your browser’s user agent, as every server does. When you submit the waitlist form we keep your email address, the time, which of the two fields you used and that user agent string. The IP address is used to rate limit the form, is held in memory only, and is not written to the waitlist record.
The Sole app
Mobile apps do not use cookies, but they can carry the same machinery under different names. Here is what is in ours.
| What | Why | Can you refuse it |
|---|---|---|
| A session token, stored in the operating system’s secure store | So you stay signed in and do not have to log in every time you open the app | Not while staying signed in. Sign out and it is deleted |
| An install identifier we generate | To tell one installation from another for crash reports and abuse prevention. It is not shared with anyone and it does not follow you to other apps | It resets when you uninstall the app |
| Your own settings, stored on the device | Notification preferences and the like | Change them or clear them in the app |
| An advertising identifier (IDFA on iOS, Advertising ID on Android) | Not collected. Sole carries no advertising SDK, so iOS will never show you an App Tracking Transparency prompt from us | Nothing to refuse |
| A third-party analytics or attribution SDK | None in the app | Nothing to refuse |
Crash and performance diagnostics come from Apple and Google in aggregate form, through the ordinary store reporting you can turn off in your device’s privacy settings. We do not run our own crash SDK on top of it.
If this ever changes
Running a product eventually creates a reason to measure something. If we add anything that stores or reads data on your device beyond what is strictly necessary, three things happen, in this order:
- This page is updated first, naming the specific tool, what it collects and how long it keeps it.
- A consent control appears, and it asks before anything is set rather than after. Refusing is one click, and refusing is the default state until you choose otherwise.
- The advertising row above stays empty. That one is not a measurement decision, it is the reason Sole is paid.
You can also stop cookies at the browser level, for us and for everyone, in your browser’s privacy settings. Nothing on soledating.app breaks if you do, since there is nothing to block.
Questions, or a claim that this page is wrong, to privacy@soledating.app. If you find something storing data we have not declared, that is a bug and we would like to know.
